Hello everyone! This is Kazuaki Miyake, the 3rd generation owner of MIYAKE Hobbyshop in Kushiro, Hokkaido. In this video, I'll show you my painting process for the Kaiyodo "Godzilla Re:Imagination" kit using a 30x speed time-lapse! ▼Highlights * [Monochrome vs. Sepia] Godzilla is painted in monochrome tones, while the diorama base features brownish, sepia tones using weathering colors for contrast. * [Sponge Painting the Fins] I used a sponge-stippling technique to give the dorsal fins a bone-like white texture. * [White Eyes & Natural Gloss] I deliberately left the eyes white for an eerie look and applied a flat clear coat only to the base, leaving Godzilla with a raw gloss. ▼Video Details I started by priming everything in black and applying a light gray zenithal highlight. The detailed base, including the passenger cars and rubble, was painted using Mr. Weathering Color to bring out an old-school atmosphere. Godzilla's details were enhanced with a black weathering wash. The finished model looks incredible and is currently on display at our store! I explain the concepts behind my Space Robot King Joe, Cycloder II, Godzilla, Swordfish II, and MAILeS Kenbu Zan. * [Kumura-san's New Dioramas] Check out Kumura-san's creative new works: an AFV diorama featuring a beautiful Greek mythology mural, and a separate rotating beer hall diorama built inside a 100-yen lantern case! ▼Video Details We successfully wrapped up our 4th "Two-Person Model Exhibition"! I documented everything from the setup timelapse to a full tour of the Kushiro Minatomachi Gallery and the detailed works on display. This year, my 5 exhibits included the Space Robot King Joe, Cycloder II, a monochrome-style Godzilla, Swordfish II, and MAILeS Kenbu Zan. I carefully matched each model with a custom photography panel to expand its world. Kumura-san brought his fantastic AFV dioramas, including a masterpiece with a hand-drawn Greek mythology mural! He also showcased another brilliant rotating diorama built inside a lantern case using 100-yen shop items to create a beer hall atmosphere. We also had a beautiful "World Mini Car Collection" featuring 1960s Monaco F1 cars by our guest, Nagata-san. Towards the end of the video, you can see some behind-the-scenes footage right after our Saturday night YouTube Live stream, as well as our closing thoughts on the final day. We had even more visitors than last year, including many female guests! Kumura-san showcased his breathtaking AFV dioramas, which he built at an astonishing pace of over 20 new pieces this year! I picked out 4 kits and 3 very useful tools. ▼Highlights * [Evolving Kits & Kaiju] Improved metallic molding on Aoshima's "Snap Kit VW Beetle"! Also, check out the massive sculpt of Aoshima's "Godzilla (GMK)". * [Geeky Scale Models] Gecko Models' rare "1/35 Matilda Mk.I" and Hasegawa's "1/200 Boeing 777-300 Demonstrator" with its flashy decals. * [Must-Have Tools] I demonstrate great tools like WAVE's "Pen-type Bottles," Doyusha's "Sugo! Paint Bottles," and GodHand's "Sharp Rim Bit". ▼Video Details I've picked out 7 of my personal favorites from our store's inventory! In the first half, we look at model kits. Aoshima's Snap Kits have really evolved with less noticeable weld lines. Their GMK Godzilla is also fantastic with a massive sculpt and well-hidden seams. For scale models, we have the rare "Matilda Mk.I" from Gecko Models and the "Boeing 777 Demonstrator" from Hasegawa. The second half is all about tools! WAVE's "Brush-equipped Pen-type Bottle" allows you to create your own custom pens by filling them with surfacer or water-based paints. Doyusha's "Sugo! Paint Bottle" is made of a tough material that can withstand tool cleaner. In this video, I'm doing an emergency unboxing and review of a sample we just received from Tamiya: the "1/35 Military Miniature Series No.391 U.S. Light Tank M24 Chaffee (European Theater)"! ▼Highlights [Long-Awaited All-New Tooling] Previous Chaffee kits used Italeri parts, but this is a completely new mold from Tamiya! [Precise Details] Includes photo-etched parts for the metal rack, highly realistic figures made using 3D scanning, and beautifully molded equipment and cables. [3 Types of Markings] You can choose from three different markings (A, B, and C) from the 1945 Italian and German fronts, and even choose whether or not to attach the side shields. ▼Video Details I hit the record button as fast as I could! The highlight was visiting "Kokusai Genkido," the northernmost hobby shop in Japan. Their massive inventory—many times the size of ours—and the owner's passion for managing inventory using "Numbers" on a Mac were truly inspiring. As a fellow Mac user, I totally related to him! In this video, I'm doing an unboxing and review of an absolute classic: Tamiya's "1/24 Sports Car Series No.100 Honda NSX"! The first-generation NSX, revealed in 1989, was Japan's first true supercar. With Ayrton Senna involved in its development, it was my absolute dream car back in my student days. (By the way, the first car I actually owned was a Honda Beat, which has the same ride height as the NSX!) This specific kit holds the memorable "No.100" in Tamiya's 1/24 Sports Car Series. Despite having a relatively small parts count, it beautifully recreates the mid-ship V6 engine and its unique exhaust system layout. It even features working retractable headlights—a signature feature of classic supercars that you don't see anymore! At the end of the video, I also briefly show Tamiya's modern NSX kit. Hello everyone! This is Kazuaki Miyake, the 3rd generation owner of MIYAKE Hobbyshop in Kushiro. In this video, I'm building Kaiyodo's "ARTPLA SCULPTURE WORKS Godzilla Re:Imagination"! This kit is absolutely incredible! It captures the essence of the original Godzilla but removes the "suit-mation" look, giving it a highly realistic, biological appearance. What amazed me the most was the parts division and runner layout. As you attach the outer skin pieces to the inner core, the seam lines magically blend into the scales and muscle flow! The engineering is truly top-notch. I also share some tips on the importance of nub removal for a perfect fit and how using extra-thin cement (both quick-setting and regular) makes the build super fast and enjoyable.
